Cape Town, South Africa is my home and one true city-love. But Oakland and the Bay Area, my current home in California, are beginning to seep into my love-stream. All my life I have felt the pull of the city, but also of nature outside the city. How to bring these two together conceptually and physically is my life goal.

In 2014 I completed a Masters in City and Regional Planning. I wrote my dissertation on planning for urban agriculture in Cape Town as a tool to bringing nature back into the city, and into the human consciousness. This followed from my Bachelors Degree in Political Studies and Environmental and Geographical Sciences. Sustainable (or even restorative) food and farming policy is just one bridge that brings all of this together. I am currently interning at the SPUR Urban Center in San Francisco and hustling burgers at FarmBurger in Berkeley

When I'm not being a bad-ass academic and activist you'll most likely find me at home or outdoors doing artsy crafty activities. I draw inspiration from nature: landscapes and seascapes and things I pick up off the ground that other people may not notice. Please contact me if you would like to comission a piece based on what you see here.

THIS IS ME
